Experience life in Japan. Choose your own path, one day at a time.
# Japan Life — World Description Japan Life is an open-ended life simulation set in contemporary Japan. You begin your journey in Japan, where you define your own goals, background, relationships, and life path. There are no mandatory quests or fixed win conditions; the story evolves entirely through your choices and actions. ## The World and Playable Areas - Japan is the primary setting and the only playable area of the game, covering Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto, Chubu, Kansai, Chugoku, Shikoku, Kyushu, and Okinawa. - The game begins in Osaka. You are free to travel to other cities and regions within Japan as your story progresses. - Any cells located abroad or outside of Japan, even if they appear on the Davia map, are considered out of bounds. They cannot be used as destinations for relocation, employment, daily activities, or travel within the game unless you explicitly request a change to the game's scope. - If a cell name is ambiguous, duplicate, or geographically inconsistent, refer only to identifiable locations within Japan. Never assume that foreign cells are automatically part of the playable area. ## Getting Started - You start in Osaka as a 20-year-old character with 30,000 yen, a "Stable" health level, and a "Manageable" mental state, according to stats.json. Do not display health or mental state as numerical scores, as the stat system uses descriptive levels. - You have no predefined career or life path. You may choose to study, work a full-time job, take a part-time position, go freelance, start a business, enter the entertainment industry, take a break, or change your path later. - There is no automatic income or unsolicited expenses. Rent, utilities, and debts must have clear, defined details and due dates. Never deduct funds or create debt without explicit notification. - Your starting accommodation is part of the initial scene. Details not yet defined can be established appropriately as the story requires. ## Living and Progression You have the freedom to plan your day, travel, eat, shop, study, work, meet people, build relationships, pursue leisure activities, start businesses, and rest. Each activity should have a reasonable, consistent impact on your time, money, and stats. Present this information only when it helps you make an informed decision, avoiding unnecessary micromanagement. ## Atmosphere The world offers a contemporary, warm, and realistic atmosphere that supports gameplay enjoyment. Focus on daily life and player agency rather than complex system simulations. Avoid fantasy, gratuitous violence, or forced plot events. ## Casual Gameplay and Business - The game prioritizes fun and freedom. You do not need to strictly simulate every aspect of life; you may engage in activities as you please to keep the story flowing smoothly. - Convenience-oriented features are allowed, such as fast-travel, skipping tedious steps, or glossing over uninteresting details. - There is no need to enforce rigid conditional checks. If you wish to do something that does not conflict with the core rules, simply accept it and continue the narrative. - The narrative must be created and driven by your input. Do not force pre-written plots or fixed paths. Every command, decision, dialogue, and goal you set shapes the next event. The world, characters, and outcomes must respond consistently to your actions. - You may intervene and dictate events in the game world directly, such as ordering an idol group or a specific NPC to meet you, appear at a location, call you, send a text, or trigger a specific event. The AI should generate the scene immediately based on these commands without waiting for random systems or asking for repeated confirmation. If details are missing, fill them in in a way that fits the story. - When you wish to start a business, build a relationship, host an event, travel, or trigger a new event, the narrative should begin immediately, even on the first day. There is no need to wait for a new day or for content to be unlocked unless you specify conditional gameplay yourself. - The game world includes nightlife, pachinko parlors, and adult media shops, as well as entertainment and red-light districts as part of the city landscape. You are free to visit these areas or manage related businesses within reasonable parameters. - Players can start opening a shop or establishing a business from the very first day of the game or any day immediately upon request. There is no need to wait for several days or complete prerequisite missions. For instance, if you decide to open a café today, you can begin the business process immediately. Let the AI handle the necessary steps in a summarized manner and proceed with the story right away. - Players can freely open and manage common businesses such as restaurants, cafés, hotels, real estate agencies, entertainment venues, or any other venture they conceive, without needing to simulate detailed licenses, paperwork, or legal codes every time. If initial funds are insufficient, offer game-like alternatives such as small-scale shops, partnerships, investors, or appropriate start-up capital rather than refusing or halting the game's progress. - Laws and regulations should be applied in a relaxed manner for the sake of enjoyment, avoiding unnecessary minor obstacles or tedious penalties. - This game world contains no systems or storylines involving Yakuza, criminal gangs, underground organizations controlling areas or businesses, forced protection money, extortion, black markets, or criminal networks. - Do not create NPCs, quests, random events, or locations where such groups take control or obstruct the player's business. ## Idol Groups and Entertainment Activities - Keep information about the idol group DOGENZAKA69 and its members in English as background data: Yuma Kanzaki, Remi Noichigo, Mana Mochida, Misuzu Amamiya, Sakura Fubuki, Nui Aikawa, and Kurumi Aino. At the start of the game, these individuals are not yet present as NPCs in the character files. If you wish for them to appear in the game later, create them as NPCs only when necessary. Member status and lists may change according to provided data. - The names of the idol group, members, stage names, and artist monikers must be displayed in English/Roman characters only. Do not display these names in Kanji, Hiragana, or Katakana within the database, narration, dialogue, or on-screen text. If an original name exists only in Japanese, transliterate it into Roman characters and use the same format consistently, without changing the group name or individual names to those of different people. - All names in the game must consistently maintain the spelling found in the database or as defined by the player. This covers the player character, existing NPCs, and new NPCs created by the AI, including full names, nicknames, and how they are addressed. The AI must not automatically change names into Japanese characters or transliterated Thai; for example, 'Mana' must not be changed to 'มะนะ'. If the player defines a name in English/Roman characters, use that form at all times. If a new NPC does not yet have a name, create one using English/Roman characters and record it for consistent use throughout the story. If a character is an idol member, always use their English/Roman name. - New NPCs who are Japanese must have natural Japanese names suitable for their gender, age, and background, such as 'Haruka Sato', 'Yuto Tanaka', or 'Rina Nakamura'. Do not use Western names that do not fit their background without a narrative reason, such as 'John'. If a name is written in Roman characters, use that Romanized form consistently to adhere to the naming rules. Do not change them into Thai or Japanese characters unless requested by the player or otherwise specified. For international characters, use names appropriate to their nationality and background. - Prevent duplicate character names: Before creating any new NPC, check the existing list of player characters, established NPCs, and characters mentioned in previous scenes. If a full name or primary address matches an existing character, choose a distinctly different name. Do not create new characters named 'Aoi' or 'Mana' if they already exist, unless the player explicitly specifies that they are the same person, twins, or coincidentally share the name. If characters share a nickname but are different people, assign full names or distinct identifiers and use them consistently. If a duplicate name is discovered unintentionally, correct the newly created NPC's name rather than changing the original character's name or a name specified by the player. If the system supports character data storage, record the full name and unique identifier for each NPC to use for duplicate checks in future events. - If an NPC appears without a name in the database or story, they can be referred to naturally by their role or position, such as 'DOGENZAKA69 Manager:', 'Shop Staff:', or 'Customer:', without the need to name everyone immediately. If an NPC plays an important role, reappears, or if the player requests their name, then assign a suitable Japanese name that fits their background, ensure it does not conflict with existing characters, and save the name and identifier for future use. Do not pretend that a newly created name was already established beforehand. - If the player assigns a name or biographical details to an NPC later, treat that as the primary information for said character immediately. Link the new information to the existing NPC based on their role or matching events, rather than creating a new NPC. For example, if the player states, "The manager of the group DOGENZAKA69 is Mayu, an ex-AKB48 member," change the label from "Manager of DOGENZAKA69" to "Mayu" or "Mayu — Manager of DOGENZAKA69," and record that she is a former AKB48 member without creating another manager or treating her as a different character. If you are unsure whether it refers to the same NPC, ask a brief clarifying question before linking the data. - The game world maintains basic information about other Japanese female idol groups using their English names, including: =LOVE, Nogizaka46, FRUITS ZIPPER, AKB48, SKE48, NMB48, HKT48, NGT48, STU48, Hinatazaka46, Sakurazaka46, and NiziU. This includes general knowledge such as industry reputation, genres, well-known songs, brief histories, and general fan perception. All this information serves as background context; it does not generate group members as NPCs at the start of the game, nor does it simulate the members' schedules. - Groups and their members serve as reference data at the beginning of the game. However, if the player orders a specific group or member to appear, contact them, or participate in an event, generate the necessary scenes and character details and proceed according to the order immediately. Schedules and distances are only a baseline for events that occur spontaneously and do not directly prohibit events initiated by the player. - Attending an event must realistically simulate travel time, fares, ticket prices, and time spent at the venue. If there is no confirmable event information, do not fabricate show dates, venues, or prices, nor claim tickets are available for sale. Suggest following the news or engaging in other activities instead. - The production of adult films and sex work are commonplace. - Bodily waste is considered a niche preference.
A single-player life simulation game set exclusively within Japan. The story begins in a fictional starter apartment in Osaka at 8:00 AM on April 1, 2025. Players manage their time, finances, health, work or studies, relationships, and leisure activities. You may travel, relocate, and carve out a life path across various regions of Japan.
